Gas prices have been out the roof since the BP oil spill. We can't keep relying on oil because we are depleting our sources faster than we can generate them. Also another oil spill in the ocean would be devastating to the Earth. It's already bad enough that millions of people are exposed to it all along the coast. The problem is that nobody with all the money is doing anything. While we sit back and let companies like BP destroy our earth for only a few years supply of gas, they continue to make a profit and keep drilling.
This is a new era and no other generation has grown up on complete technology. I remember getting a computer in fourth grade. Kids are being grown up on computers and given cell phones in elementary school! America was founded by hardworkers and now kids are just handed ipods and laptops like its nothing. We have so many distractions that we fail to recognize what is going on beyond our personal lives. Without all of this technology everyone would be more in sync and cooperate better as a whole because people would be more concerned with community than personal lives.
We have not had a financial crisis since the Great Depression, and a similar issue exists today. The unemployment rate is not nearly as bad but we have gone from a producer country to a consumer country. We import more goods than we export. We need to start producing so we can sell products to other countries and make more money. We are sending all our companies across sea when we should be strengthening the economy at home.
Imagine yourself drinking a glass of water full of crude oil. Now try to imagine all of the animals drinking and living in that water every day. This is a blog designed to inform citizens about the BP oil spill and its effect on the Earth, its species, and the economy we depend on. See the truth for yourself.
